SY Cable: This is the toughest control cable out of the three making it perfect to applications where mechanical protection is required. The galvanized steel wire braid on the control cable makes it great for those after a reliable, robust and durable cable.
SY cables, also known as armoured flexible control cable, shielded flex, or simply armoured flex, are strong and durable cables suitable for internal dry, damp or wet environments (including oil-water mixtures), and can be used outdoors when protected against direct sunlight. They are also referred to by their constructional reference: YSLYSY cables for the PVC sheathed variation.
SY control cables are not suitable for fixed wiring applications requiring compliance with the requirements set out in BS7671.
The voltage rating for these shielded flexible multi-core control cables is 300/500V.

SY Cables are used in numerous industries including plant engineering, construction and industrial machinery and air conditioning installations. The SY Cable is commonly used in areas with increased mechanical stress requirements and fixed installations as well as occasional flexing at free, none continuously recurring movement without tensile load.
SY cables are the toughest of the control cables, thanks to its steel wire braid. They offer extremely reliable mechanical protection. These control cables are highly flexible, multi-core cables with (class 5) copper conductors. They have a voltage rating of 300/500v and are available in both PVC and Low Smoke Zero Halogen versions.
SY shielded cables have a transparent sheath allowing for the braid to be monitored for any damage. SY cables can also be used outdoors and are very efficient when in either dry or damp conditions.
Such SY Cable are suitable for laying indoors and in the electrical cabinets, however, the cables can’t bear larger external mechanical forces. SY Cable is used for the signal transmission, controlling and measuring system of the electric apparatus.
